I have the exact same issue. Managed to go back 3 saves, but they were still gone. It's not a problem with mods. It had to happen after an update.
I really hope they fix the game soon. So many packs broke with the new update.
Sad to hear that you're experiencing the same issue, but glad that I'm not the only one. Really disappointing bug.
For me all supernatural sims cause problems in the game, I can't go with a sim to another lot because the game crashes or loads forever, same with saving. Total disaster, you can't play if you have supernatural sims in your family.
