all sims reset

I got the Sims 4 for my birthday and i've played it a ton ever since. Yesterday I updated my game and when I came back every single one of my sims has reset. Their hair, clothing, accessories, are gone on each one of their outfits. All that's stayed are their skin color and tattoos. Is there any way I can somehow load an earlier version of the game or something so I don't have to go through hours of re-making them?
