Animation error when trying to bake cakes?

I'm having an issue with baking cakes since the most recent update. My Sims will go to try and bake a cake and then stop after it's been prepared in the bowl. It began happening right before the new chef pack release. I do use the better exceptions mod, and when the Sim stops baking the cake a notification pops up that an animation error has occurred. I have since removed all mods, deleted the cache folders and repaired the game on origin - but my sims still aren't baking cakes! I also purchased the new chef pack thinking this would help- but to no avail. Now they prepare the batter and just leave it on the floor instead of placing it in the oven. 

(I also should add that nothing is in the oven, I have replaced the ovens, moved everything away from the ovens, and even moved the ovens. nothing changes. They just place the batter on the floor and walk away)

Any ideas on how to fix this? I'm worried about doing a complete reinstall in case I accidentally delete my most current household.
