Oooh, clever. Yes, this could be done, I'm sure. Something like +50 would probably be strong enough to cover most cases.
Sounds like a neat idea. So you're thinking something like they get tense the way loner does and the tense says something suggesting they use the power to hide?
Yeah, that seems sensible. Then as they get more skilled, they have more control over when it happens?
Thanks for the info!
I think the quirkiness you noticed may be due to how the buff was made and what it was made for. It doesn't seem to cover quite everything and it looks like it was made to be part of certain roles role states, so that sims wouldn't be chatting up weirdly when they're supposed to be doing other intended things.
I'm not sure if it includes toddler chat at all. It may have been made before toddlers were added.
Judging by its code:
It looks like it should block out most interactions. But there may be some that aren't in those lists. I'm not sure off-hand.
What about creating a buff for feeling 'fine' that could overpower most, but probably not all, moods? Could this enable them to be standard white for most of the time?

This was something I actually mean't to mention earlier. I think it would be a great addition and then the use of the power could tie in better with weaknesses and using the power too much/ not enough.
(Just a little side-note so I don't forget and since we're discussing the invisibility trait: For a superhero with the invisible power, I had an idea that they could maybe inherit some buffs and need requirements that are similar to the 'loner trait'. So then in large crowds when they start to feel uncomfortable a 'now's a good time to use my power' buff could come up, giving them a reason to use it more often. But it could also be a good mischievous power for scaring sims  )

Yeah, I think it should definitely use some sort of energy to use the power.
This makes sense, a sleepy sim can't really use their power that well.
With regards to being toggled off automatically, i'm assuming there would be a way to auto toggle it on? So, going back to what we were discussing a few posts back about when they first learn about their power, the invisibility could perhaps turn on and off on its own at random times?

A quick update.
Everything seemed to be going ok, I sent my invisible family over to another sims house. If I tried to do a friendly introduction, the action would get cancelled by both passer-by sims and the residents. All going well so far, till my toddler 'talked to stranger' then suddenly my other sims started interacting with Mr Travis.. so I think my naughty toddler tester found some kind of loop hole? I'm testing the trait with all sims ages, so perhaps it wasn't coded for toddlers? Was I supposed to do that? :joy: Oops..
Update.2
I sent my toddler home because they were being a pain lol. They can still interact with household members who also have the trait, but the chat options are very limited to ones such as 'give gift' and 'take picture' etc. However for some reason Travis (the sim my toddler 'talked to stranger') Has all the normal chat options. It does seem to have gone back to being 'invisible' now as the interactions are being cancelled. But I think there is something to do with toddlers that enables them to chat, unless they auto did that themselves i'm not sure. I think there is a couple of stray interactions that lead sims to interact with one another. But I will just let them run wild for a bit and see if they start any conversations on their own first.
Update.3
Ok I think it might be just because i am testing with a toddler and child sim as well and they seem to be able to interact as normal so I don't think the trait was built for them so they can somehow form a group chat and break the barrier, oops my bad :joy: I think the only sorts of interactions that the adult sims occasionally do, are the generic wave and hello and then just some awkward staring at each other :joy: as well as some of the odd interactions that I think came in some eps that I mentioned earlier.
Thanks for the info!
