Blast from the Past Week 3 Pep Talk Not Showing

Just started the "On the Hunt" part of this week's event, and the first task says to give yourself a pep talk in the mirror.  When looking at any walkthrough, it shows an option with the special icon...

    I moved my mods folder out (deleted localthumbcache) and opened a new vanilla save. I was able to do it then.

Yeah, same thing. Honestly this event is making me not play the sims 4. Even opening the game to be bombarded with an event that is such a struggle is just disheartening.
