Bugs After March 14 Patch

I did not purchase Growing together, but all of these are problems I've observed after the new update just before Growing Together Pack came out. I think it was March 14?

Anyway, some of these I can work around, others just "bug" me. I thought I would post in here so someone could maybe figure out how to fix the problems. (Or come up with some sort of solution - if there's another post about any of these, please point me in that direction. Thanks!)

1. Sims can't cook, eat a quick meal from fridge, or clean up dishes. When I click on a fridge and choose Cook (whatever), the sim pulls out the stuff on the cutting board, then sits it down on the counter. Starts preparing food then resets. Can't do anything else and the cutting board just sits there.
WORK-AROUND: Sims can grill food on outdoor grills to completion. Then can grab a serving and eat. Sims can't clean up dishes, but they can but dragged to a trash can. Unfortunately, the cutting board can't be dragged to a trash can. I have just put those on a corner edge of my lot to avoid stinking up the room they were originally in.

2. In restaurants, waiters can't serve food. They go up to pick up a serving dish (silver dome), then reset. I tried getting my sim (who was on a date) to serve food (Shift-click on table and choose Serve Food or Serve Food (Debug), and I also tried Shift-Click on the actual dome serving platter thing. Neither worked. I just ended up Cheating need on both my sim and his date and went home. So NO WORK-AROUND for this one yet that I can tell.

3. Sims can't play instruments. VERY annoying for my music lovers and musical genius aspirations. They go up to the instrument and reset. Now, this is ONLY for guitars and violins. They CAN play the piano (just tested that out and it worked, so that's good). For the other, it doesn't matter if they guitar/violin is on the ground/floor or inventory. Same thing happens. 

I feel like there's more but I'm forgetting......Guess I'll edit and add to this if I find anything. Those are my top 3 BUGS for now.

4. Sims Can't Read Books. Whether on a shelf or inventory, it resets every action I try. Sim walks to the bookshelf with the icon picture of the book on the side (like in his queue). then resets once he gets to the bookshelf. Just resets if I tell him to read a book in inventory. I tried putting a book out on a table and ask them to read it, but that didn't work either. So no way for my Nerd Brains and/or Bookworms to read.
