Yes the game has issues but EA aren't responsible for making sure your game works with 3rd party content. Maybe your saves are corrupted? You need to try a whole new clean Sims 4 folder and a brand new save, not just cherry picking a few files and folders. Move or rename the current Sims 4 folder in Documents > Electronic Arts. Next repair the game in Origin/EA App, then reload the game so a new one is generated. Start a new save and test out build mode. If it's still happening, post a couple of screenshots here clearly showing the problem.
Even this forum doesn't work properly apparently. I already replied to this and then when I came back to look, the reply was gone.
It's also completely ridiculous to say EA isn't responsible for providing a product that works the way it supposed to.
Even without modifications, there have been issues and problems for years ever since they went digital.
I've been playing The Sims since the first version.
So trust me, I know what I'm talking about. They've done a terrible job as each version of the game comes with even more problems.
Restaurants haven't worked properly in years! But that's the customer's fault? No, it's not.
I didn't cherry pick anything. I removed the entire mods folder, cleared cache, did a repair and none of that helped.
I hadn't played The Sims in about a month... But it worked perfectly fine a month ago.
Now, when I go to Sulani, select "build" on an unoccupied vacation rental house, it takes me to the house but none of the build options show. It's completely disappeared.
And I'll repeat, I do not have mods or CC in my game and it still is not working properly.
Every single time there's an update from ea, there are brand new problems to experience.
And that's even without any mods at all!
So no, EA has a responsibility to provide a product that works properly, unless they want to start giving it away for free! Then I'd have no complaints.
Let's see if this reply even sticks. I would like to hear from someone from EA.

I agree. I was just complaining about how every time there is an update, my game messes up somehow. However, I tried it and it worked. My question is do i just add my mods folder in to this new save file or???? I am pretty new to using mods and cc. I have a Mac which makes things a bit more tricky.

Hi @lorenzqupid1995 I have a post about how to manage your mods and CC when the game updates here: https://answers.ea.com/t5/Mods-CC-Issues/INFO-How-to-Use-Mods-and-CC/m-p/13436264#M58781 Please feel free to post questions about the process in that thread.

Using Mods and CC on a Mac is no different than on a Windows machine when the Mods are added to the Mods folder. The default file path is the same - Documents > Electronic Arts > The Sims 4 > Mods.
