Can I delete part of a sims 4 mod?

I have a mod and love it for the tragedies themselves like robberies and illnesses but I’m not a fan of the snip. I’ve turned them off in my game but the files are still taking up room in my folder and potentially slowing my game down. Can I just delete the bits I don’t use without deleting the whole mod? Or will that mess everything up? Pls help!!
