@ksrzezkua0tw I've not heard about issues with Dropbox syncing like we see with OneDrive, but I would advise against risking syncing. It's not just about syncing your mods folder - it's about your saves and game settings as well. Personally, I back my Sims content up manually (including a online copy) rather than by syncing. It's risk-free.
@ksrzezkua0tw I use Dropbox and while yes, it’s probably easier if you just don’t back up the Sims folder at all, I have two pieces of advice if you’re using the overall computer backup and having trouble exempting it, or just want to have the backup:
1. Make sure every single file in the Sims 4 folders - both the program files and in the Documents folder - are set to available offline (set on the top level folder and make sure it has time to apply to all). If you have trouble launching the game, try resetting this to all files offline then all files local again to redownload them.
2. Pause syncing temporarily before opening the game. Sims constantly generates temp files while you play, and I’ve found that if Dropbox is determinedly trying to back all these up every time they create or change, it causes major lag in the game.
