Cannot access Sim on vacation/reverts to world select window

Cannot access Sim from her home lot, says she is on vacation. Selvadorado map shows her in rental lot. Click lot, click play, World (neighborhood) Select screen comes up. Infinite loop.
What do you expect to see? Should start vacation on rental lot with Sim.
Have you installed any customization with the game, e.g. Custom Content or Mods? Never used.
Did this issue appear after a specific patch or change you made to your system? Yes

Sent Sim on Jungle vacation, shows her in rental lot (after selecting and picking # of days) but when trying to play it reverts back to Neighborhood (World) Select screen after loading. Tried to select rental lot and click end vacation but instead an endless loading screen pops up .

I had the same exact thing but with a made rental lot in Sulani

I had on sim on vacation at Selvadorada, it's a large family, and she's an adult child.  I went in to pick a new outfit for her and when I closed the out of that I was still on the Selvadorada map, but the active sim was someone at the house.  I could not change the active sim. 

1.  I saved and closed, and when I tried to resume the active sim was still someone from the household and the game loaded at the main house, with my sim still on vacation. 

2.  I tried going to manage worlds and went to Selvadorada, picked the vacation home with my sim in it and tried to play that, but when the house loaded the active sim was still the other one and I couldn't control anything.

3.  From the EA app, I tried repair game (click on manage > repair), it crashed the EA app. 

4. I opened it again and ran repair, loaded the game, and the active sim was still the other one.  So I went to world, back to the Selvadorada map, clicked the house with the vacationing sim... STILL the other sim is the active sim.

5.  FINALLY - I went to manage worlds, went to my home world, and selected the household.  The game asked me which sim I wanted to play.  I picked a random one.  Once the household loaded, I clicked on the vacationing sim and got a menu option to switch control to that sim.  It took me back to Selvadorada where I was able to resume the vacation.
