Cannot select different child stages/ages

Product: The Sims 4
Platform:Mac
Which language are you playing the game in? English
How often does the bug occur? Every time (100%)
What is your current game version number? Sims 4 on origin
What expansions, game packs, and stuff packs do you have installed? Genetics mod and CC
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? 1. After creating a new game 2. Go to CAS mode 3. Click on the plus sign and then DNA/Genetics icon 4. Then add another parent 5. The icons that show the different age range or stages for children is grayed out. I can't pick the toddler or teenager or any of them. I can only select "Child". It always says "Must be younger than parents". But the parents are young adults.
What happens when the bug occurs? It won't let me pick any stage or age range for my new child. I have to pick a child and can't pick other stages or ages.
What do you expect to see? I expect to see the other options available to select.
Have you installed any customization with the game, e.g. Custom Content or Mods? Yes
Did this issue appear after a specific patch or change you made to your system? Neutral/Not Sure

Hi there,

I'm hoping you can fix my issue.  I attached a screenshot.  I circled the options that are all grayed out and won't let me pick it.  This used to work but has stopped working and not sure why.  I can't select other stages other than Child.

    Hi  @riceowl1999 

    Try resetting your user files as described in the factory reset described in this post: http://answers.ea.com/t5/The-Sims-4/FAQ-Troubleshooting-Steps-amp-Known-Issues/m-p/3621199

    You won't loose anything. Just make sure to not delete any files  and make a backup.

    After renaming, repair your game by clicking on the dots in EA app.

    Try on a new game with nothing added back first (start new game). If it works, put back your save game and try again. If it still works, you can start putting stuff back.

    • Options.ini (or just re-set all your settings manually)
    • Tray Folder
    • Screenshots/Videos/Custom music
    • Rest of the save games (leave out slot_00000001.save which is the autosave and no longer needed - if you still have it)
    • Custom content like clothing, hair, skins, make up ....
    • ConfigOverride, if you have your own configuration files.
    • Mods (one by one, making sure they all still work)

    The rest does not need putting back, cause they are mostly cache files that recreate or log files that are not needed for the game.

    hi, i had this problem and it was because i had 2 copies of the cas columns installed accidentally, maybe check that mod 🙂
