Can't cheat bookworm trait to teens

Hi, I'm really not sure if this is the right place to ask, but I wanted to cheat the bookworm trait to one of my teen sims, but it doesn't work. I copy pasted the cheat and it worked on the adult sim, but not on the teen. Tried it in a different household as well, but I just can't get it for a teen. Is this a bug or by design?

Thanks! (no mods & no cc ever.)

  • @IrisuChan   Hi!  I did some testing and I see what you reported.  I can cheat the bookworm trait for an adult but not for a teen.  As @crinrict mentioned, sims only have a certain number of traits available initially; 3 traits for young adult and older, 2 traits for teen, 1 trait for child and younger.  It's quite possible that we can now add multiple traits for adults because they can discover traits based on their in-game actions; ie. an adult sim might discover they have the "active" trait if you have them exercise frequently.  I'm still testing but my teen has not discovered any traits yet, so my guess is the new "discoverable trait" system does not apply to teens.  Therefore, I think this is by design and we would not be able to cheat additional "base" traits for teens.

I didn't remove any trait, you mean I have to remove one first before applying another for teens? (whereas for adult sims you can cheat as many (?) traits as you like?)

@IrisuChan It depends on the trait I guess. If it's one of the three (or two for teens) initial ones, you can only have three and you need to remove one before you can apply another. Maybe that changed with the extra traits you can have now but if that's the case, that would be a bug in my eyes as they are special traits you get through game play.

As the bookworm trait is one of the initial ones, you need to remove one first.
