Can't Open The Sims 4
I'm having trouble opening my game after adding custom content (CC) to the mods folder. The game opens fine when I remove all mods, but even adding just one piece of CC prevents it from opening. I've...
HI @Bianca_reader Please try rebuilding the gameplay folders: Exit Sims 4 then drag your whole The Sims 4 folder from Documents > Electronic Arts to your desktop. Launch Sims 4 and start a New Game, and redo your Options. Now go to the new folders that the game created and add one piece of CC there. I would suggest making that a known-compatible item like something fairly new from Peacemaker.
@luthienrisingI appreciate your efforts to help me, but unfortunately, the solution did not work. I removed the Mod folder and added a single CC to it, but the game still does not open. At first, it opened normally, but when I closed it and tried to open it a second time, it did not open again. I have been trying to fix this issue for a month now, but I don't know what else to do. Can you suggest any other solutions or reasons why this might be happening? I'm not sure what is causing this problem.
Okay, if *every* piece of CC is doing this - you're testing freshly downloaded, newly created CC - then there's an issue likely in your installation. Try a game repair to see if that helps. You might also need to create a new Sims 4 folder (drag the old one to the desktop and let the game make a new one, redo the Options, copy back files from inside the old Saves and Tray folders).
@Bianca_reader Another possibility. Are you running this from an external drive? In that case, you could be dealing with a drive format that can't read .package files.
