This issue was resolved in Patch 1.91.205.1020.

I was speculating that maybe this save error had to do with the patch that was done to correct the aging up from the long/short lifespans, as the last two occurrences of the error had occurred on birthdays. So I even used MCC to adjust the age on the toddler to see if it was at all related to birthdays. Nope, saved just fine after the cake had candles put on it and after the toddler aged into a child, no error at all. I don't want to say I'm in the clear just yet, the other save I had started yesterday did briefly have the save error issue once, but right now it does look like my NSB fam was bugged.
Yep the family was busted somehow.
This is a pita but if you can try to keep track of things you do, changing outfits etc, to see if you can trace the point where a family breaks to the action going on at time.
Just to check, have you ever set custom lengths of agespans ever through MCCC?
Also I wonder if you send your family's library file to the EA devs here if they would be able to see what's wrong with them.
