Hello,
I have been dabbling with custom content on and off over the course of time since I have been playing Sims 4. I cannot count how many times I would get a folder all set up with all my favs. I would ensure to keep my folder size down as to not bog down the game's loading time and giving the game all that much more .package/access files to read. Yet, just as I am all set to go to town in placing them all in my game for keeps, I would read people having some big issues... more so as of late to where they cannot access their games at all, they lost their neighborhoods they reconstructed, Sims are not functioning correctly, custom content and Mods are broken, etc. it appears to be a mess right now.
But... there are so many talented creators out there that I am honored to tell you about because they really know what they are doing.
First, there is Peacemaker. Not only does he make great content EA didn't think of creating, He has made many "addons" to pre-existing content of many expansion packs. He did a lot of Buildmode addons, Wallpaper addons, and buymode addons (which includes more awesome clutter items that makes sense of the game and are all from the original EA content. He has also "downsized" the majority of all coffee tables to make them more reasonably sized and functional. In some of his new content, he added/included EA content like taking the bonsai tree from the base game and creating actual table-top plants out of 4 of the designing styles.
Sixam CC also has some great EA clutter and addons too and is now getting some of his content used in our games like the latest Nursery Kit!
Another one of my favorites is Max20. It fits right in with the style of our games and He made this gorgeous pool waterfall that I would LOVE to see introduced as free content in our games from EA.
If you love clutter and want to stay true to EA, Brazenlotus has meticulously extracted fabulous stuff from each pack to be used separately and on surfaces... not to mention Pillows from various sofas/seating to be used on other comfort surfaces and the file size are really small so you can really add a lot for so little room.
For great EA addon plants many of us love these:
Ravasheen has transplanted various EA plants and put them into different EA pots/vases for a nice variant.
Simsi45 at Mod The Sims 4 has also done the same and recolored the 3 debug hanging plants and made them easier to hang instead of using cheats.
Awingedllama on tumbler has separated all the blooming room plants from the kit to be used on surfaces and has a cool leaf wall décor too.
If you love EA Clutter Xetto at Mod the Sims 4 extracted a ton of content and unleashed grouped plants, extracted decorations from bookshelves, etc. turned them into tabletop décor you can place anywhere.
For really cute and adorable EA addons and new content you may love Joyce's Place
For new content and ideas, the following also offers some top quality creations:
House of Harlix
Piersims
Tuds
Littledica
plumbobteasociety on tumbler is a collaboration of creators who made a really amazing Cottage Garden Kit and the Rustic Romance Stuff Kit very worthy of checking out. You can either handpick the items you want or download the whole set as their sets are jampacked.
All of these creators I have play-tested in my games and LOVED. Just extract the files and place them all in your Mods folder. You can make separate folders inside the Mods folder for making it easier to find certain items you have downloaded. Some like to make them for each creator or each set creation they made. Because I am an avid EA addons fan, I make folders for each pack.
Hope these will be of help to you. Happy Simming!
