CC poses have overwritten some dance animations

Product: The Sims 4
Platform:PC
Which language are you playing the game in? English
How often does the bug occur? Every time (100%)
What is your current game version number? 1.92.145.1030
What expansions, game packs, and stuff packs do you have installed? Most of them
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? It's in my game so not sure how you can replicate it yourself
What happens when the bug occurs? A sim starts dancing to playing music but the animation starts off with static poses, possibly custom poses, then the normal ingame dancing animation plays, it seems be to stuck in this loop.
What do you expect to see? The normal ingame dancing animation wihout any static poses.
Have you installed any customization with the game, e.g. Custom Content or Mods? Yes
Did this issue appear after a specific patch or change you made to your system? Yes
Please describe the patch or change you made. I removed all of the recently installed custom poses and animations from the mods folder, I also deleted the localthumbcacge.package file and tried resetting the folders and repairing the game in Steam, nothing seems to be working and the dancing animation is still having this issue.

I recently installed some custom poses to use with the pose player mod as I wanted to do some paintings from reference ingame, however when my sim visited a nightclub the other sims started dancing but the animation is now starting off with a couple of static custom poses, it was working fine before i installed the recent custom poses and the they were dancing with the normal ingame animation.

I've since removed the custom poses and done all the usual fixes, updated all other mods, deleted the localthumbcache.package file, resetted all the folders by moving The Sims 4 folder the desktop and loading the game up to reset itself and moving the folder back again, I've also verified the Steam files to repair the game, but haven't done a full reinstall yet.

After doing the above fixes the dance animation is still bugged with the custom static poses at the start, I'm not sure what else to do apart from try a full reinstall of the game.

Has anyone else experienced this, I found this old post that was a similar issue and followed the instructions but still having the issue.

  • Have you tried a new windows user ? Do you have it on a new save still or just the one that was already borked ?

I'm moving this to Game and Mod issues as it's caused by a mod and not a game bug.

Hi @crinrict , I'm not sure what you mean by a new windows user? I'm the only one that uses the computer the game is installed on, could you ellaborate more?

It's on a current save, I haven't tested it on another or new save game yet, I'll test again on a save with mods disabled and see if the dance animation is still bugged, I don't want to loose the save that I'm having the issue with.

    Thanks.

@andypuk1980a It's just for testing to find out if the save is borked.

I mean, try making a new windows user on your computer and then try from there. That's the cleanest form of a new user folder you can do.

It's really just for testing but if you haven't tried a new save yet, try that first to see if your save is somehow corrupted.

Just done a test and it definitley seems to be a mod causing the poses to mix in with the dancing animation, not sure which one is causing it as I removed the recent CC poses that started it off so it must be another mod somewhere that needs updating I assume, i'll keep my eyes open and check the mod authors for any updates.

I loaded up a save with all mods disabled and my sim was dancing as normal with no cc poses mixed in, it's not a major issue as the game is still playable, just the dancing looks very odd at the moment :D
