@puzzlezaddictSorry for the delayed reply.
I downloaded a new cc item with just that item in my mods folder and the game worked. But with the rest of my mods added back in i start from scratch again. I have spend the last few days trying with one creator folder at a time and each one is 95% corrupt - despite the fact that last just prior to my first message feed they were all working. How this happened i have no idea - i always move my mods, saves and tray folders out before doing any updates. Ever since the change over from Origin its been one problem after another. To answer your question below i have a 1TB SSD card - with just sims4 on it. I am not sure what you mean by how is it formatted, I am not that clued up on the IT side of things but if this answers your question i have EA and the sims 4 files all on the D drive.
i found a post from a while ago that you helped someone with the same problem where you said to move the mods folder out, zip it, start a new game and then unzip the mods folder in the new fresh files which worked for her - I tried that and that didn't work for me sadly.
I can't find anywhere where you can contact except on email like you could before. With nearly 4000 hours of game play and spending the last 2 weeks cleaning up my mods folder on tray importer I really don't have it in me to download all my cc again, besides the fact that a lot of it i have paid for and would have to pay again, or some creators don't create anymore. I have almost every pack every released for Sims4 which as you know is not cheap! I am so disheartened i can't begin to explain and at this point I am on the verge of giving up hope of playing my game again 💔
@samgoosie I'm not sure which thread you're referring to, but I'd only suggest zipping the Mods folder before its files have been corrupted, for example when moving the data from one computer to another. The idea there is that perhaps the files were corrupted during the transfer process, with the originals being intact in the old folder, and creating a .zip file could protect those files from being corrupted again during a new transfer. That doesn't apply here since you only have the single copy.
I'm not sure how or why your files were corrupted, but the fact that a new cc item works means the problem is your old ones. You really don't have to pay for new cc though—there's a lot of free content available, and some creators offer unlimited downloads for anyone who's paid once. (It's also against EA's terms of service for creators to hide their content behind paywalls indefinitely, but that's another matter.) And plenty of fan sites have users who can help you find items that suit your taste. I know it's not what you'd want, but it could be fun to go cc shopping again.
It sounds like you have a 1 TB SSD, which is a (solid state) drive, not a card. An SD card is an entirely separate component: different physical size and shape, different read and write speeds, different interface, and usually much lower capacity.
