Cheat Need Not Working

Hi there

I had a look through and couldn't see if anyone else had posted about this issue, but I have noticed that the "cheat need/disable need decay" option is missing from my game. I've tried repairing my game. I've right clicked my Sims and right clicked the mail box and it's just no longer there. I noticed it after a recent update. Does anyone have any idea how to fix this?

Thanks

    @Riverleigh Hello!  Just to clarify, you're talking about shift+click to get the cheat menu, correct?  If so, are you seeing the other cheat options like "reset object", "modify in CAS", etc.?

    Yes that's right... I shift click the sim to get the cheat menu to cheat needs and make happy or disable needs decay, but neither of those options are there at all.

    @Riverleigh Does this happen for other sims and other households?  Perhaps try a new save to see if it happens there.  Have you tried repairing the game in Origin?

    @Riverleigh

    You need to first enter testingcheats true in the cheat console before shift-click works.

    @Jona0703

    It doesn't work for anyone, and yes I've tried a new save and repairing my game.

    Just to be really clear…. You say in your opening post that you right clicked but then further down referenced shift click when @JonaO703 suggested it. These are not the same thing and do not elicit the same result.

    As @jpkarlsen has also explained, you need to enable testingcheats true before being able to shift click on the mailbox and disable/enable mood decay.

    Sorry if it seems I’m pointing out the obvious but when trying to help it’s really important to be exact with your explanation/instruction. Please try the following, in this order:

    - Move your entire Sims 4 folder to the desktop or rename it, whichever you prefer to force the game to create a new one.
    - Launch Origin and repair the game.
    - Once repaired, launch the game and start a new save, going through CAS etc and onto a lot in Live mode.
    - Enter the testingcheats true cheat to enable cheats
    - Shift click on the mailbox in Live mode to toggle mood decay
