Classroom 2 locked for Sim

My Sim tried to attend the after-school exam prep in classroom 2 and the door was locked to him. Same with the little recreation room next to the principal's office. When I click on the door - it shows locked to faculty. I tried to select unlock. No change. I cannot enter Classroom 2 at all even when my Sim should be able to access it.

No mods, fresh game and I have already downloaded today's patch.
