Use the mouse around inside of the color field to browse through the colors. Click inside of the color field to select a color to assign to the pattern. You can also manually select a color by entering in the RGB or HEX values.
From there, you can easily recolor any object in game. This feature also supports clothing and accessories. (*)

No, I wish something like this was available right now. As of right now, the above image is only an idea.
