@thecharsims Yes, moving in counts as 'editing'. Always has been that way.
Bit unsure what you want to create a new thread for ?

After I tested all my mods, I had came back here and asked if I should recreate the thread since it seemed as though my mods weren't the issue and maybe it was a game issue. This was before I realized that the villagers might have been placed into homes, which they were... and that was the actual reason why they lost their roles. I found that out after I posted my question to you about restarting the thread. I'm sorry that I didn't elaborate before.
I wasn't the one that placed the villagers into homes though, the game or maybe MCCC did.
I had decided to just deal with the new villagers who had the old villagers roles and I went into game to give them makeovers. That's when the thought came to me that the original villagers might've been placed into homes. When I went into the household manager tab for "Not in world" to edit the new villagers, it confirmed that the old villagers were indeed moved into homes within one of the worlds. It was after realizing this that I came back here and edited my reply to you to say that I figured out what happened and that it was a simple thing within the game that I completely forgot about.
I hope that all makes sense. I'm sorry.- 4 years ago
Is there a list of NPC jobs that cannot live in houses? Because I have bartenders, waiters, chefs, DJ, barista, vendors, restaurant hosts... living in homes with no issue, but I did not know mailman cannot be placed in a home. I thought the important thing was to have them "unplayed".

Is there a way to re-assign the role to the original Sim? I made the mistake of editing the Grocery Store owner in CAS and now she's lost her role--but she was key in my storytelling!

@OttoTheSImmerThere's a thread here where someone reinstated Sara Scott with a hidden trait. You might be able to do something similar with Kim. https://answers.ea.com/t5/General-Discussion-Feedback/Premade-sims-losing-their-occupation-when-played/m-p/10693448#M55613
A web search turned up the following cheat codes, which I have not tested.
- career_Adult_CottageWorld_NPC_GroceryOwner
- trait_Hidden_CottageWorld_NPC_GroceryOwner
I got them from here: https://forums.thesims.com/en_US/discussion/900951/hidden-traits/
(they're on page 14)

@crinrictI was wondering.. but we could surely give them makeovers with the Get together wardrobes? I'm just guessing that wouldn't count since we're not actually loading that household even though the action takes us to CAS?
P.S. if anyone else knows the answer, please let me know bc I'm sure Crin has enough stuff to do already! 😉
- crinrict4 years agoHero+@siirysiir I have no idea. Just try it. It does load CAS so I think it will strip the role anyways. Just test on a new save.
