Side note: if you move and put a family you don’t play in the same house, the game will still work like you deleted it 9 times out of 10. It’s the loading that’s the issue, which is why so many console players have problems with entering and exiting build mode or traveling or random crash on save.
I'm assuming with the new patch, this might have become a sims 4 game problem for computer players as well instead of it being only console players.
Thank you so much for taking the time to reply! Unfortunately my game won't stay open long enough before crashing for me to move any families around ☹️

@lauriecaitlin Is this still happening with no mods or custom content present? If not, please remove all your mods and cc and test again. If so, try enabling vertical sync within the game options. (It's with the other graphics settings.) If you can't get far enough to do so in-game, you can edit options.ini instead. Open it (TextEdit is fine) and use cmd-F to search for verticalsync , then set it to = 1 , save, quit, and see whether your game runs properly.
@iJDanielle93 Does your computer run Windows or macOS? If you have an ARM (M1) Mac, please try the above. If it's a different Mac, please post its full specs: everything under About This Mac except for the serial number. If you have a Windows PC, please run a dxdiag and attach it to a post,

@puzzlezaddict I attached the DxDiag to this post.
For more background: I have a Windows 10 PC (a laptop to be more specific). The game used to run smoothly with quite a few mods and cc installed prior to the latest update. I went through and made sure to update all of my mods and double-checked for any driver and/or Windows updates. Everything seemed to be in order. When the game began to crash, I followed the steps of repairing the game, making a new TS4 file, and even uninstalling and reinstalling...all to no avail. Also, if this info helps at all, all of the other programs I use and games I usually play are operating normally. And I keep my games saved on an external to help save space on my laptop.- 4 years ago@iJDanielle93 Hi, I was having the same problems as you, but I found that one of my save files is causing the game to crash. You should try taking your save files out and testing if the game still crashes. Hope this helps! 🙂
