Many .package mod files are not loading. Sorry, I don't have more info than this right now. It seems likely that there's an issue on the EA side. At the moment, please just hold off on trying to "fix" this yourself. It's a good time to play mod-free or do something else. Modders are looking into at least finding a pattern to give you some helpful information, but it's complex at the moment. You can follow Broken and Updated Mods and CC to get info when I have more.
For other broken mod news, see Broken and Updated Mods and CC. Please note there will be very little of that while modders and mod-support volunteers are focused on the not-loading issue, as they want to find commonalities before testing other mods.

What EA should do is just push back out their old version and say "Sorry, the store will have to come later".... instead, they will leave this game broken so they can keep up their store that crashed everything! Admitting you made a mistake is a lot harder than blaming someone else... and this is clear EA didn't test this much or at all before releasing it... I think that is what gets me. This isn't the first time, this happens regularly, they need to start beta testing with a few willing subjects, instead of rolling this stuff out that doesn't work!

"This is the perfect time to play without mods or do something else." Sorry for reacting so abruptly, but I really don't appreciate this response. I have over 5,000 hours of gameplay using custom content (CC) to complete aspects of the game that EA doesn't want to develop further or even see implemented, not to mention all the other CC in this case. If at least the CC packages had been spared, I could at least play, but now it's no longer possible for me. I'm too used to playing with the hairstyles and clothes that I really like, and that are part of my Sims' personalities. To have them swept away for a business strategy that was already a lamentable failure in The Sims 3 (it feels like déjà vu)... With every update, it's a knot in my stomach about scripted CC. Okay, I understand, and it's "normal," but now the .package files are also affected. What will it be tomorrow? All this just to make a quick buck... they're off to a great start with this recycled Sims 3 idea... and you're right, it's time to do something other than continue to support and fund a studio whose updates create more problems than they solve...

Also, people tend to forget those of us who are disabled play the game because it's one of the only things we CAN do without pain.

Finally! I completely agree with you on this. Treating such a major issue like it’s something minor is a complete waste of time for players and content creators like us. What are we supposed to do to make it clear that our time and effort have been completely wasted? I definitely do not appreciate this response either.

I absolutely do not appreciate the way this is being treated as if it were a normal or minor issue. Many .package mods are not loading at all, and for those of us who spend real time creating, testing, and building things, this is a major problem. It is incredibly frustrating to see people being told to just play without mods or do something else, as if the time and effort put into these projects mean nothing. I understand that the exact cause may still be unclear, but treating this like a routine inconvenience feels deeply dismissive. Whether we are CC creators, mod creators, content creators like me, or regular players, we all put real effort into this game. I make small mods for personal use, and right now it feels like all the time I invested, along with the entire setup I built, has been lost. I now have to rebuild everything from scratch. What makes this even worse is that we received no meaningful warning, and the way this situation is being handled makes it seem as though this is something normal, which is absolutely unacceptable. EA makes money from players and creators like us. I have around 3,000 hours in The Sims 4, and I have spent most of that time building enjoyable gameplay through mods and CC. Before this is treated like something players should simply work around, I want to remind people that we paid for this game. I do not want to be rude, but for some players, this may be the moment to start giving competitor games a chance. A little more understanding would have gone a long way.

I absolutely agree. people spend hundreds and thousands of dollars to play this game to their hearts content, just for EA to release an update that has no regard for all of our investments. They can minimize it all they want but money talks and people get loud when you screw them over. They need to revert the update so people can use the products we paid for.

I want to talk more about this because for the past two days, I have been spending my time working on mod translations, aside from updating package translations. Since The Sims 4 does not officially support Turkish, this process is already far more difficult and time-consuming for us than it is for many other languages. Translating mods into Turkish requires extra manual work, repeated testing, troubleshooting, and checking each mod individually, because the translation workflow and string structure can vary from mod to mod. Now I have to go back and test everything again in Turkish with all of my installed mods, and that is a major waste of time for me. At this point, even my own translation mod is not working. That alone shows this is not some small inconvenience. It directly affects the time, effort, and work people like me put into this game. The worst part is not just the issue itself, but seeing it treated like it is minor or normal when it clearly is not.
