December 2021: My Sims Can’t Cook!

My sims can’t cook! Every time I start to cook a meal of any size, they stop midway. When I try to resume cooking, they wave around and act like they can’t get there. I’ve tried moving the food to every empty counter space, and have even tried using different counters. Nothing. My sims just can’t cook and it’s driving me crazy! I only have basegame, so it has nothing to do with any of the packs. It just doesn’t allow my sims to finish cooking. Please resolve this problem when you can, thank you.

    @Keylee_41 Do you have Mods or Custom content (CC) in your game? If so, please try testing this issue with them and the cache file removed as follows:

    Try moving the Mods folder from your "The Sims 4" folder [Documents > Electronic Arts > The Sims 4] to your desktop (save it for reference) and delete the localthumbcache.package file in your “The Sims 4” folder. Then check in a new game save to see if this issue is still occurring. You can test without saving in order to identify which CC/Mods are causing the issue, then remove or add updated version(s) of the Mod/CC causing the issue.

    If that turns out to not be the issue, or you don't have Mods/CC, could you please share a screenshot of the room with the stove/countertop, etc.? Does the issue occur for other sims or just one? Does it occur on other lots/with other households?

    Are you still having this problem? I’m having the identical issue. I ‘repaired’ all of the game packs I have and I have no CC or Mods.
