I make a sim and then go to the next screen to pick a plot and when I do, instead of loading in it loads me back to the world selection screen and I can't get back to my sims. When I go to pick the plot again it just asks me to create a household to live there.
Are you a mod user? The August 2025 patch (1.117) broke many, many script mods, with this being the symptom, and these are still the ones most likely to be your problem. Use the Previously Broken mods and CC for many (not all!) mods that have no updates. Use “Updated” in the Broken/Updated Mods list for patch 1.117 as a second starting point, but note many were updated for patch 1.118 and/or are not yet cleared in the current list (for links, see Mod & CC Issues: START HERE).

Picking an empty plot from the world map, without a Sim loaded to move to a household, will always give that prompt. The Sim you created might be findable now in Household Management as unhoused.
