yes i did - i looked everywhere
it may be due to space constraints - there is no room to either side of toilet to put book nor in front because of doorway
i never bothered to deconstruct house to see if it under foundation either

After a few saving, reloading and playing a number of times the books showed up stuck hovering in a wall beside the toilet - one invisible and the other at a 45 degree angle
ie on spine with the mouth up at 45 degrees
household member could not get books - had to use build mode to move book and place on table
