I have no house but I have pet items, I adopted a puppy and my sim went to bed. When she woke up there was a dog carrier nearby but no puppy anywhere. I think it wandered off before I could even see it came. How do I find it and get it back? Please help! “The Sims 4”
Are you sure you adopted it? When you adopt a pet it has a little icon next to your sims icon on the bottom bar. If it's there, click it and the camera should focus on your puppy. If it's not there, then the adoption didn't work. Try exiting your game and then reloading it. Pets can also hide under beds and couches. I hope this helps.
@Sims4Farmer Did you complete the full adoption event? A Sim should show up with a carrier to bring the dog or dogs you selected to visit, and your Sim can get to know them and then choose one or more to finalize the adoption on, which gives you a pop-up to change their name if you want and as @Jayicah said, adds them to your household. You can then end the adoption and the Sim from the shelter or wherever will take their carrier and any unadopted animals and leave.
If the carrier’s still there it sounds like maybe the adoption event bugged or didn’t complete.
