Elevator not working

Question

I’ve been playing with city living for awhile and i’ve never seen this problem. No sim that lives in this apartment can’t travel up or downstairs. I used the teleport cheat for my sims which worked but my dogs can’t go out and use the bathroom and i can’t teleport them. keep in mind i’m on console so i don’t have mods or anything like that. How do i fix this? i don’t see anything in the way, i reset the elevator for up stairs and downstairs, reset my sims and every single dog i have and it still doesn’t work. PLEASE HELP ME OUT.

@Lgrace7732 There's usually something stuck either inside the elevator or outside the entrance.

Known causes are: Bikes, Gnome's leaving seed packs (did you have a harvest fest with gnomes ?), trash plants.

No i haven’t and i heard that could be the problem but if so how do i fix it? I reset the elevators and it still doesn’t get fixed. I’ve had to travel to another area everytime my dogs need to go to the bathroom&nbsp;

New problem: Apparently sims can go through the elevator but dogs can’t. I have a patio in the apartment and when i leash them and “encourage them to do there business” on the patio, they say they can’t do it there either. i decided to move to temporarily fix this problem and move back when i get a solution.

@Lgrace7732 Did you check if there's a bike/trash plant at the entrance of the building ? Although if Sims can use it now, I guess that's not the problem. Maybe resetting got rid of stuck objects inside the elevator.

Dogs not being able to use elevators is an older issue: https://answers.ea.com/t5/Bug-Reports/TO-ADD-CL-CD-Dogs-can-t-use-elevators-in-Financial-District/td-p/7017183 although I'm unsure if it's actually by design or not.
