@Kanelbullet I'm with you on this issue. And for everyone annoyed by this I recommend a mod by bienchen that makes it ok for family members to share a bathroom. Sims culture is very US centered and they have a weird relationship to nudity (as in, nudity is seen almost always as a s*xual thing and it grosses me out) whereas in Nordic countries it's more relaxed and natural which shows in the game. Parents' responsibility is to teach kids and educate how a human body looks like, how it works and how you're supposed to take care of it and also to teach boundaries about what parts are private and what parts are ok to be touched by others. Making nudity something secret, appalled and kind of forbidden is an issue bc kids don't learn what is normal and are taught to be ashamed of their bodies and nudity. ☹️ Even worse is that because of this they become more easy prey to those who actually want to hurt them...
Speaking as a US person who lived in Germany for 4 years... never forget that the US was founded by Puritans. 😉
It's not just the US, but yeah, Americans (including me, haha) are uptight about nudity and super-uptight about the bathroom. I was traveling overseas and asked someone whom I thought had perfect English where the "restroom" was and he was mystified and tried to point me to the hotel restaurant. I was reduced to using the local word for "toilet." LOL. (That's right, in super polite speak "bathroom" is too much and you say "restroom." Like, I don't need a toilet, I just need to sit down and rest for a moment, like, you know, in the room that has a toilet in it. What? And at home or with friends you don't need a toilet, you need to go into the room with the bathtub and shut the door, what? LOL. With close friends, it's "I need a bio break" or "Excuse me, I need to go to the Little Geek's Room" or something silly like that.)
TL;DR: The Sims is very US-Centric and this is a US cultural thing and there might be mods that get rid of it if it's weird to you.
P.S. The first naked adult man I ever saw was Michaelangelo's David (not a photo, the actual sculpture in person). I was 10 or 11.
