Fear not showing up in Traits

@toramonger Now I can see her.
I don't know why your Sim had issues without having the trait in the first place but she def has a commodity (these are kind of hidden timers) about it. When the timer runs out, she gets the fear.
The potion seems to be still bugged. It only gets rid of the trait and nothing else so what you need to do is actually resolve the fear,
Do the following steps
1. Re-add the trait with the cheat as before
2. Wait until you get the fear resolve want.
3. Buy a confidence potion
4. Go outside in the dark and drink it.
5. The fear should resolve for good.
She does get another commodity this way that lasts a while and I've not played until that runs but the fear of the dark commodity is also gone so I'm confident it should resolve your issue.
Please report back. You will probably need to play for a while to be sure.

@crinrictThanks so much! I also had the invisible fear, but of swimming, my Sim was born in game and actually loves swimming, he met a dolphin in the sea when he was younger, so didn't make sense, he kept getting the buff of being afraid but no trait showing, so I equipped as you said to above and then had him use a confident potion to swim for an hour, and now he's all good, says he conquered his fear! :D He kept getting the buff seeing the neighbour's pool out the window so it was really annoying lol!
