fix a bug for sims 4

I need help finding the bug in my game. My sim cant cook or do a lot of activities. My BE says it is a tunable_model? I play on a MacBook Pro. I don't know the first place to look to find and delete corrupted files.

  • @Lilmiss27 Your mods are located in the Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 4\Mods folder. Create a Mods2 folder and transfer the mods one by one to the Mods2 folder, launch the game each time and check if the problem is fixed or not. As soon as the problem disappears, then you removed the problematic mod, transfer the mods back, except for the last one that created the problem. It is suspected that the MCCC is causing the problem, but these are just my theories.
  • @Lilmiss27 Could you be a bit more specific ? What happens when they tried to cook ? Have you tried repairing the game ? Does it happen on every save you play or just a specific ?
  • It happens on every save. When I click on fridge or stove and then cook, it shows there are no recipes to cook. All of them are grey like they don’t exist. I don’t have any mods or CC in my game. Just regular gaming. So it’s the game itself. I haven’t been able to play since 03/25 because my game was messing up really bad and giving me the game data incomplete message. But last night 03/28 I got on the game and was finally able to play. Now it gives me that message at startup. That the tunable_model is corrupted. Saying that it’s the game itself. Should I stop trying to repair the game like I’ve been doing since the 25th and just uninstall and reinstall everything? I have every expansion, game pack, and stuff pack they’ve released for it.

  • I don’t have any mods or cc. I’ve already checked that folder. I don’t have MCCC because I can’t seem to figure out how to download that from their website. I only have TwistedMexi.

@Lilmiss27 Do you have the lot trait from Cottage living that makes you need the ingredients in your inventory (I can't recall what it' was called) ?

Have you tried resetting the user folder yet ? Like renaming it and let the game create a new one to see if the message goes away ?

Could you post a screenshot of the complete game data incomplete message ?
  • Ok so I just logged on to my game and you were right. I had the stinking simple living trait. idk how i missed that lol. Now i feel dumb lol. But my sim has question marks all over them now and so do a lot of my items on my lot. so i'm at the point where i want to uninstall and reinstall the game because this is getting annoying.

where is the user folder though? i haven't seen that one yet.

  • Also I dont' get the Game data incomplete message anymore just the tunable_model message when my lot loads. and I am not finding any Last Exceptions in my folders under EA/The Sims 4. Here is what I am getting now.

Try resetting your user files as described in the factory reset described in this post: http://answers.ea.com/t5/The-Sims-4/FAQ-Troubleshooting-Steps-amp-Known-Issues/m-p/3621199

You won't loose anything. Just make sure to not delete any files  and make a backup.

After renaming, repair your game by right clicking on the game in Origin.

Try on a new game with nothing added back first (start new game). If it works, put back your save game and try again. If it still works, you can start putting stuff back.

    • Options.ini (or just re-set all your settings manually)
    • Tray Folder
    • Screenshots/Videos/Custom music
    • Rest of the save games (leave out slot_00000001.save which is the autosave and no longer needed - if you still have it)
    • Custom content like clothing, hair, skins, make up ....
    • ConfigOverride, if you have your own configuration files.
    • Mods (one by one, making sure they all still work)

The rest does not need putting back, cause they are mostly cache files that recreate or log files that are not needed for the game.

If that still doesn't work, yeah, do a reinstallation.

  • I did all those steps and it still didn't work. So I deleted everything and reinstalled. My internet is slow so it's still going. But hopefully this will definitely fix my game. I just want to get back to building and Simming lol. I really appreciate your help. I scoured pages of forums and couldn't find any solutions until I finally made a post and you responded.
