Foundation never appears/unable to add.

Product: The Sims 4
Platform:Mac
Which language are you playing the game in? English
How often does the bug occur? Every time (100%)
What is your current game version number? 1.96.365.1230
What expansions, game packs, and stuff packs do you have installed? Cottage Living, Seasons, Get Together, Discover University, Cats & Dogs, City Living, Snowy Escape, Island Living, Dream Home Decorator, Parenthood, Perfect Patio, Vintage Glamor
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Build a room or platform and try to apply any foundation.
What happens when the bug occurs? The first time you click to add the foundation, it acts like it is applying it but nothing shows up. If you click again it states that there was nothing to change.
What do you expect to see? A foundation applied to the structure.
Have you installed any customization with the game, e.g. Custom Content or Mods? Not now. I've removed them.
Did this issue appear after a specific patch or change you made to your system? Yes
Please describe the patch or change you made. This started happening after the latest patch that added infants.

In this pic a foundation should appear around the small deck. This occurs for every structure and every floor.

    Hi there

    If you want to add a "foundation," pull up the arrow in the center of the room in image 1 below to specify the height of the foundation, and the foundation will appear. (Image 2)


    However, you state the following
    "In this pic a foundation should appear around the small deck. this occurs for every structure and every floor."
    Since a foundation can only be placed on the ground floor, I thought you were referring to the platform trim.
    If so, you would open the "Platform trim" section at the bottom of the "Walls and Empty Rooms" section.


    If you use it for stepped rooms or platforms, you will probably get the result you want.
    Give it a try.
