Rename the Sims 4 folder, launch the game so a new one is created then quit.
Move one of your Mods into the newly created Sims 4 > Mods folder, do not move over any other data from your original Sims 4 folder, then load the game. What happens?

Was a new Sims 4 folder created in the Electronic Arts folder when you tried to launch the game after moving the old one?
