Get to work/Science Career not able to invent

What expansions, game packs, and stuff packs do you have installed? Expansions: Snowy escape, Cats and Dogs, Get To Work Free stuff: Grims ghoulish guitar and Holiday celebration pack
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Create a sim and get to level through the science career
What happens when the bug occurs? During leveling of the science career in my case level 4 the invention creator doesn't have the option to invent items. I have made sure my sim is in the correct mood and has a eureka breakthrough moment. Following things I have tried Selling the invention creator and placing a new one in the work area. Used the cheat menu to clear my inventory.
What do you expect to see? Be able to invent items
Have you installed any customization with the game, e.g. Custom Content or Mods? Never used.
