@crinrict I tried a couple of times but the game kept saying "sim not found", which was weird because he was clearly just standing on my lot (now in my yard because he took one of my chickens). So I closed out of the game entirely and opened it back up again to see if anything would be different but he's still out in the yard like a creeper (he might be waiting to take one of my other chickens but I'm not sure?).

@xlittlexwolfx It's possible that you need to have the actual name of the grim reaper. They are basically just Sims in a very special role. I though Grim Reaper works but could be that it's not.
Are you doing achievements on this save or do you not care about them ?
If you don't, you can use testingcheats on and then click on the reaper to reset that way but I don't know what the equivalent of shift-click on console ist.
If you do care about them, you could try a backup to see if it would even work like that.
