Help - No Goals Events always fail

Hi, not sure if this has been discussed in previous forums but can’t find. I don’t have a problem with events that have goals, those go fine, but every single event I have that is not goaled - including where NPCs ask my played Sims out on dates, they always fail, even though I’ll do the same interactions and number of interactions as with foaled events.

is this normal for events without goals? It’s a bit annoying as it affects the Sims moods and relationships with others, even though they have a good time.
