Help! need advice on an external hard drive to play sims 4 on

Hi guys, I recently was in touch about using an usb for sims or thinking about using an external hard drive. I've tried to download the sims 4 onto my memory stick but having all sorts of problems so now my only hope is to get an external hard drive which i have found one on amazon and just wondering if this will be ok to  use for it as I don't want to waste my money. it is a Storite external hard drive 2,5 2.0 250GB on it... will this be ok? please can someone get back to me asap so I can order. thanks

  • @Ebslou26  Please link the exact model you're thinking of purchasing.

Or if you'd prefer, we can troubleshoot the memory stick issue.  In that case, let me know what error you're seeing and what format the memory stick has.

  • Yes, I am also having the same issue, my Macbook pro doesn't have enough space for my personal documents, sims 4, and origins, I want to buy an external hard drive to fix the issue.

  • @abbash93 Hiya, I take it you are on console for the sims 4… if so I don’t want to say anything about what hard drive id recommend as I am on laptop (pc) so I’d hate to give you the wrong answer but I’ll advise you to read up on it and ask others in here to see what they could suggest, I however don’t think it’ll be a problem as my laptops managed to run the sims on the external hard drive I brought although I don’t have the right graphics card it is doing okay … no glitching as such or freezing so it’s okay for me but I don’t know how it would be for you on a console hence why I don’t want to say ‘oh yeah get it it’ll work’ because I just don’t know and don’t want to get to hopes up for it to not to work plus they can be quite pricey so I wouldn’t want you wasting your money on it if it don’t work. I hope this makes sense and you see where I’m coming from. If I was you I’d read up on it a bit more and if your still inside ask others in here as they maybe able to point you in the right direction. Hope you can fix the problem anyway. Thanks, take care!
  • @Ebslou26 Thank you for your response, no I mentioned above that I have a Macbook Pro, I will buy an affordable one during the cyber Monday sale and see if it works, thanks!
  • @abbash93 Ah yes so you did, my apologies. I think you’ll be fine then with 1tb you’ll have way more space then you need though… I got a 250gb and it’s not even half way up to the full bar so with 1tb you’d have so much space… I guess if you want hundreds of extra content then I guess it’ll work for you but your saying you on a Mac … surely you’d be watinf quite a bit of money when you can just get 250gb for £20 like I did or even a bit more that that for about the same price. Up to you though I like to save money where I can but you may be different and that’s ok… just thought I’d leave that option for you. All I can say is hard drives do work and the sims downloads soooo fast on there too then an ordinary memory stick so that’s a bonus! I just can’t comment on the one your getting cause I don’t know about it as I’ve got a different one so not sure how good it is but hope it works for you.
  • @Ebslou26 Yes, this is a good point, I'll look for one with 250 GB as it's more than enough for what I need!
