Home Hustle Chef / Latest Patch Broke CAS?

Did anyone buy the new Home Hustle Chef pack or update your game to the latest patch? I am confused, and baffled and tried to repair my game multiple times, once with the mods disabled and then deleted the mods and tried to repair my game and have reached out to EA Help via X (formerly Twitter). Here's the situation, when I load my saved file, I want to add another sim to my current household that I am playing with. However, when I entered CAS to make a sim everything froze in CAS can't alter traits etc. My game is updated to the latest patch and the most recent pack was Home Hustle Chef. Also tried not loading my file and creating a sim which didn't work at all.

10/21/23 Update - Still can't edit existing sims or create new sims in CAS I just deleted my saved game and attempted to create a new sim - no luck the issue still occurs! ☹️ 

10/22/23 Update - Tried to play a new game with existing sims items from the HHC wasn't working properly (can't collect waffles)!

    There's a chance that what you hit is a bug unrelated to the HCH release. It might be this: https://answers.ea.com/t5/Bug-Reports/OPEN-GRO-Wrong-names-and-CAS-Corruption-after-gaining-a-4th/td-p/12395752 Have a look to see if that could be the case.

    If not, try a true vanilla test: Exit Sims 4 then drag your Mods folder and Saves folder to your desktop. Then delete the file called localthumbcache from Document > Electronic Arts > The Sims 4. Now open Sims 4, start a new game, and see if you still have the problem. If you don't, try adding the Mods folder back and then testing, again in a new game, not your previous save. If you're still okay, then the issue is actually in your previous save.

    @luthienrising I am not sure about editing Sims' name but since the entire CAS isn't clickable it sounds similar except I am on my laptop.
