Homework/inventory keeps disappearing

Question

Anything in my sims put in their inventory just keeps disappearing, this includes homework får my child and teen sims. I can put the homework book on the table as soon as my sim ages up from toddler to child to make them do it but when they're finished and put it back in their inventory it just disappears.

Does anyone else have this problem?

This issue has been due to incompatible mods in the past.
Could you please provide the following information

Are you using mods/cc in your game ? Please remove them and test without them if you do.
What platform are you playing on (PC, Mac, Playstation, XBox)
Please also provide any LastException/LastCrash files in your documents folder. Upload them to either google or oneDrive and post the link here.
