Hope this is the right place! How do I pose sims?

I asked this in another forum and was directed here (I think they meant here). I downloaded some S4 poses but am not quite understanding how to utilise them in game. What do I need to do? Next ques...

You can create poses/animations and replace existing ones. For example I have replaced the sleeping on the couch animation with a private moment animation as well as the woohoo animation.
