Horse will turn into a weird shape while interacting with small pets

Product: The Sims 4
Platform:PC
Which language are you playing the game in? Français
How often does the bug occur? Every time (100%)
What is your current game version number? 1.99.305.1020
What expansions, game packs, and stuff packs do you have installed? Everything EP, GP and SP aside from Journey to Baatu, Fitness Stuff, My First Pet. Kits : Bust the Dust, Blooming Room and Bust the Dust.
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Wait for a horse and a small pet to interact
What happens when the bug occurs? The horse will turn into a weird shape during the interaction before reverting back to normal once the interaction has finished
What do you expect to see? For the horse not to turn into a potato shape
Have you installed any customization with the game, e.g. Custom Content or Mods? I have some CAS content for pets, but no mod affecting pets.
Did this issue appear after a specific patch or change you made to your system? No

The glitch happens every time a small dog or a kitten tries to interact autonomously with my horse. Haven't tested with a large dog, an adult cat or a puppy yet. Cottage Living and Horse Ranch animals, like rabbits or sheeps, aren't affected.

  • My horse and kitten have been interacting fine, though I haven’t played them very long. Is there a specific interaction you’re noticing it on most often? Have you tested without mods/cc?

Definitely check without CC in your game.  You never know what can cause a glitch.

    Hi

This *bug* is caused through a mod. It was confirmed on reddit (The Sims). It should be *Have some personality please* and the additional module for cats & dogs. Per default Horses can’t much interact with pets, beside watch.

  • @AstralVerset In addition to the mod suggested here as a likely culprit, there could be other mods that cause this issue. Anything that relates to interactions could have unexpected side effects, and any CC on the relevant animals!

If you need to narrow down the culprits, you can do a 50-50 on your Mods folder. This means organizing the files there into bite-size batches and testing one batch at a time. For each test, delete the file called localthumbcache, then put only that batch in Mods. If your game opens, set that batch aside as "cleared" and delete localthumbcache again. If it doesn't open, take out half the batch and see if you're closer to finding the culprit. Remember to delete localthumbcache each time. You'll find some 50-50 method tutorials online too. Once you isolate the file, you can go find out if there's an updated version.
