To add to the above, when an update is due, put Origin in Offline Mode.
You can continue to play your modded game safely during the period it takes for the modders to do their updates. This means becoming a 'patient gamer' and missing out playing many packs or using any new functionality through base game updates day one. Personally, I see it as an advantage as then you can let others be the guinea pigs for new stuff :grin:
