How to PERMANENTLY turn off "Discovery Quests"?

I returned to the game after couple of months and there are some "new features" that ruined my game. Every single time I try to load a game, I get immediately the annoying "discovery quest" popup. I...

@Aiculik Could you try moving your options(.ini) file to the desktop, then start the game and reset all settings. Turn them off again and then check if it sticks after that.

There is currently a bug with them that the setting are per save game instead of global but that shouldn't affect the same save.

I am having the same problem now. I followed the advice above, and it still didn't work.

I really wish EA would spend more time on fixing bugs than they do.
