When I clicked 'travel to prom', it always took me to the map of residential worlds. I tried traveling to the auditorium, but it took me to the map again.
My game is up to date.
I have tried repairing the game twice.
I also tried removing all mods, but it still didn't work.
My sims can only travel to the auditorium when there is no event.
Does anybody know how to fix this? Thanks in advance.

You won't loose anything. Just make sure to not delete any files and make a backup.
After renaming, repair your game by right clicking on the game in Origin.
Try on a new game with nothing added back first (start new game). If it works, put back your save game and try again. If it still works, you can start putting stuff back.
The rest does not need putting back, cause they are mostly cache files that recreate or log files that are not needed for the game.

I tried your suggestion above as well as many other suggestions and in assorted combinations (disabling get famous, turning off aging ect). Still having the same problem. My sim went to about 4 proms with no problem before (he's been a teen for a long time) only now am i having this problem. Any other suggestions?

@crinrict, I don’t get any error message and I don’t get taken to the map. When I click the go to prom option when it pops up nothing at all happens. My sims just sits there and goes on with his life. Most the time it’s not even in the calendar (I did manage to get it to show in the calendar while doing my own troubleshooting, but didn’t actually solve the problem). And when I travel there manually the auditorium is empty and not set up for prom. Do you think it’s something to do with the lot? I could try placing a fresh one off the gallery or something?!
