I have 3 TS4 applications in my Sims 4 game folder

I was trying to add a g shade to my game for the first time and as I was going along with the directions, I noticed that I had 3 applications in the game/BIn folder of my game. TS4_DX9_x64, TS4_Launcher_x64, and TS4_x64. Once I put the g shades in place, I could not get them to work in-game. Is have 3 TS4 applications normal?

  • @natajahharris TS4_DX9_x64 launches the game with DX9 graphics support and is the default option. TS4_x64 starts the game with DX11 support is you add the -dx11 startup option in the EA App.

Choose which graphics support you want and configure g shade appropriately.
  • @CaerfinonHey! Thank you for replying so quickly! I have tried installing the GShade app with DirectX 9 and DirectX 11 and both times I was not able to access the gshades I downloaded. Would you have any idea as to why that is? Should/could I delete the TS4_DX9_x64 and TS4_Launcher_x64 application, since in every tutorials I have seen, no one has had all 3 in their game folder?

@natajahharrisDo not delete the files as they are the game's program files since the most recent patch. You might want to repair your game from the EA app to ensure it's completely installed.

If you are still having issues with GShade I would suggest joining their Discord server and get support directly from them. The link is on on GShade website.

Hi, did you figure this out? I am having the same issue - I had to repair my game today and now my gshade isnt working and I have the same 3 files as you, and cant figure out what to do. Thank you in advance!!!

  • Hey I know it's probably too late, but for anyone else with this issue, just pick the TS4_x64 if you have multiple like I did.

  • It's the same with me but don't worry. Use this file "TS4_x64" and when you need to select which direct to use pick Directx 11 because it is the direct that goes with that type of file. I did that and my sims 4 game works perfectly now with g shade.
