My sim was just attacked by a swarm of bats. I don't have the Vampires or Jungle Adventures packs and the lot does not have the "creepy crawly" trait. As far as I can tell my mods are also up to date and running fine. I've been searching to find a reason for this, and I can't find an explicable reason why this happened. The bats don't bother me, really, I'm just curious/concerned. Any thoughts?
I hope they didn't impregnate your sim with a vampire..
On the serious side: try removing your mods, and see if it happens without.

@Denindria Do you have the Snowy Escape pack and did you visit one of the neighbourhoods? There are bats around especially when you go hiking. If so i would advise you to buy Mr. Wayne's Bat Bane. If you don't have SE then you could definitely check for a mod related issue.

I do not have snowy escape xD as far as expansions I only have pets and university. But thanks for the idea, I didn't realize they could be there. I fixed up my mods and played yesterday and no more bats.. at least not yet xD
I have also had this problem since the latest patch. I do have all the packs installed but the lot does not have the "Creepy Crawly" trait and the insect attacks are happening on public lots outside of Snowy Escape and Salvadora. I went to the Sims Sessions in Willow Creek and the crowd watching the performance was constantly being attacked by bees and bats or trying to catch butterflies, super annoying!
If your sim was "attacked by bats", then it's a mod.
I've never seen a sim be "attacked" by anything in the game.
I've seen lots of creepy crawlies (including bees, bats, and spiders) attack Sims in Selvadorada, and Snowy Escape's Extreme Sports Enthusiast has "survive three wildlife attacks" as an aspiration milestone.
(I know, she says she doesn't have either of those things, I'm just being annoying and pedantic.)
I'm in the middle of Sim Sessions (Bebe just started) & these bats just came out of nowhere to attack one of the other concert attendees. 😕
