Infinite loading screen when trying to load into lots

Since the Life and Death update yesterday, I haven't been able to load into any of my households in my save file; the game was working a few hours before this update.

I can load into the save file and can go into CAS from manage worlds just fine but anything that involves a lot doesn't work (build mode, visiting a lot, loading into a household, moving a household in, placing a lot from the library/gallery)

I play with mods but removing them didn't fix anything, it just made it so I could get out of the loading screen just so I can get this error code 110:7f6f1bd5:be5350f9

I've repaired the game multiple times, deleted the cache, updated mods, removed un-updated mods, turned off mods altogether, made a copy of the Sims documents folder and let the game generate a new one, and nothing!

New save files function just fine, but I really want to find a way to fix this savefile because I've been playing with it for years.

Also having this issue with one particular save. I had mods but I removed them, repaired game multiple times and cleared cache without any luck. New saves and other saves I have work fine.

  • Having this issue too. I played Thursday night just fine and was able to move my Sims between worlds and enter build mode etc with no problem. Today in a separate save I moved a sim into a lot then tried to place a build from the gallery. It got stuck in the loading screen. I had to force quit. Then I went back in and tried to place a lot from the world map and it got stuck in the loading screen. I closed and tried again by entering the lot itself to build and it got stuck entering the lot. I closed and tried a different save with the same results. I also deleted the few pieces of CC I downloaded between last night and tonight with the same results. I've deleted my thumbcache and repaired my game. I also noticed when I'm loading into a lot to play not to build it takes a long time but it does eventually load.

  • @deen_deenie @skycastleshay @apatsch89 If you had any cooking mods, put them back. (Check for updates first.) If you have Growing Together and use any build/buy CC, add Lumpinou's Milestone Fixes mod. If you had any freelance/gigs career mods or complex mods that include those features, try a "Save As," then exit then reload that save. For some freelance/gigs careers, updates are available. I did have all those types of mods, I've tried what you've suggested and it still doesn't work ☹️

@luthienrising Thanks! The only thing that applied to me was the Growing Together thing so I downloaded the Lumpinou mod. I was able to load into a lot to build in the problem save file with no issues. The loading time is still longer than it used to be but it does actually go through and I'm not sitting there for a full 2 minutes.

Just to note if other people are having an issue... WW also popped up a message saying that there was a complex save data issue so that might have been my issue with this particular save file, it was also the save file that I had duplicated (it has the detailed calendar I made of course 🙄 ) and was having issues with when I was testing fixes last night.

So my particular problem was probably a corrupted save file, which sucks because I took my save files out when updating and repairing. I was still on the first generation... I do have a question, does anyone know if you duplicate a corrupted save file, does the duplicate also have the "corruption" issues? I'd assume so but just wanted to check before I fully delete it.

@skycastleshay My general understanding is that a copy (from within the file folder) is likely to duplicate corruption. A "save as" can clear some kinds of issues. Do try loading earlier versions of the save.
