Invisible Sims, and broken base game hairs

I just switched from Origin to the EA App and now and sim younger than a teenager is invisible. As well as swatches of specific base game hairs being broken. I have removed all mods and cc from my game.I have tried to reset the sim, change their outfit, and restart the game many times. Even in cas infants, toddlers, and children are invisible.

I would hazard a guess it is absolutely nothing to do with the EA App and everything to do with the game update and CC as both things were released on the same day. Moved to the Mods forum for further help.

I suggest you try a user folder reset first.  Just rename the "The Sims 4" folder to something else or move it somewhere safe outside the "Electronic Arts" folder.  Then start the game and create a new save.  Check to see if the issue is still there when you make the new sim.  I'd suggest you make at least one of each age.  Once you've made the new sims and placed them, play them for a few minutes to see if they are visible.  Then save and quit.

If you find all the sims and the things you noticed that were broken before aren't anymore, then you'll need to check your old save to see if the problem is still there. So, copy your save from the old "The Sims 4" folder to the new one.  Start the game and see if the problem is still there.  Don't save when you quit.  If at this point, everything looks as it should, then your issue is either an outdated mod or broken CC which you'll have to hunt down and either update, replace or remove.

    Hope this helps.

  • Hi! Thank you for your reply. I went ahead and tried this and still am having the same issues. Do you have any other suggestions?

@lexileeann05 Just to confirm, you did the user folder reset and tested in a new game before putting anything back in the new folders? Have you done a Game Repair?

In addition to repairing the game as @luthienrising suggests, are you using the ICloud?  If you are, you need to make sure everything associated with the game is on your computer rather than in the cloud.  The game does not like the cloud.  So, make sure you have both the program files and your user files excluded from using the cloud.

Switching from Origin to the EA App doesn't change anything about the game.  The only things that are affected by the switch is Origin, which gets removed, and the App, which gets installed.  The game files, both the program files and the user files are not touched in the transition.

    Hope this helps.
