Invisible Sims

I’ve run into this problem where my sims face in the corner will disappear if they change outfits in game. The little icon at the bottom will disappear as well and the character won’t actually appear to have changed even though they technically did. When this happens I can’t save my game until I change them back into the original outfit. Whatever this glitch is, it’s also making townies invisible, just floating umbrellas or thought bubbles. I have the BE scanner thing and it says there are no out of date mods or cc. I’ve tried uninstalling and repairing, i’m at a loss ☹️
