Issue/BUG with Neck Accessories

Hi all,

For years I've been having an issue with my Sims' neck accessories.

All neck accessories appear distorted, zig-zagging, chunky, hidden inside the skin, or floating way above the chest. This happens to all female body types and it also happens to male Sims, but the distortion on male Sims is less visible. Also, I don't know the cause, but on some female Sims the issue is not as bad as on others (see attached example).

Now, I am using a few CC mods (nothing affecting gameplay, just a few Build objects and a few CAS items), and I am trying to realize if this is caused by some mod or if it is an issue with the game itself. For instance, I may download a Maxis-made Sim (e.g., the new Winnie Harlow) from the gallery (which is CC free), and if I add a neck accessory, it appears distorted like that. As I said, I don't know why, but on some Sims the issue is even more annoying, while on others the distortion isn't as strong and you can overlook it (but it's still there). If I play with shoulder length or chest size, I can see the neck accessory moving appropriately, but it can never look right.

In the past, I downloaded bundles of CC (e.g., a Sim that came with all of its CC clothing/sliders in a package) and there are some CC that I do not want/know what they do, so they may be causing a problem?

I disabled all CC and the neck accessories still look distorted. On some Sims it is very prominent, but on others its less visible (but still there).

Does anyone have the same issue? A thread in the past I remember had a similar issue and it was acknowledged as a bug, but how can it still be on-going after so many years?

EDIT: It seems that on extremely fat Sims (max muscle and body weight and big shoulder length) the neck accessories work flawlessly. On any Sim below max weight the issues with clipping begin, with the thinner the Sim the more problematic neck accessories become (e.g., no muscle and low body weight the accessories even clip inside the body...)

EDIT 2: I moved the Mods folder to Desktop, deleted localthumbcache.package and tested on a New Save. The issue is still there. It seems to be an issue with Sim weight/muscle. Overweight Sims (max muscle and fatness) have no issues. Any changes to lower the body weight and neck accessories become more and more distorted.

Move your Mods folder to the Desktop and delete localthumbcache.package. Then test the game in a new save.
If it works now check for updates to your Mods and CC. Add it back a little at a time while testing until you have found all that are broken.

I moved the Mods folder to Desktop, deleted localthumbcache.package and tested on a New Save. The issue is still there, exactly like it is in my lightly modded game.

All neck accessories STILL look distorted. They only look alright on extremely overweight Sims (max muscle and max weight). Any changes to the sliders below max muscle/weight and the issues with neck accessories begin. On Sims with no muscle and low body weight the issue is ridiculous. Accessories are all crooked, zig-zagging, buried inside the skin or floating above the chest.

    So I doubt it's a mod issue.
